Assertive K9
Wagner

"Wagner is a 1 year old German Shepherd. Before I began training with Jim OBrien, Wagner was a little on the wild side. He would not listen to any commands. Now that we have begun training, Wagner will listen to all commands given to him. He has learned to sit, down, stay, and come. He is also doing on and off lead heeling. Jim OBrien is a very knowledgeable trainer and a good person to work with. Progress is fast if you listen and work with your dog. Money and time is well spent."

"My 6 month old Shih Poo loves Assertive K9. Toby is a small 13 lb. dog, but he holds his own in Robin's Doggy Day Care with the big dogs and loves it! Now I try to bring Toby to day care at least once a week for a couple of hours while I shop in Wolfeboro. He is totally amused and gratefully exhausted when I bring him home. He sleeps all the way (15 minutes) from Wolfeboro to Alton on the way home. We hired Jim for two private sessions initially and that was all it took. I highly recommend this business for its services and its variety of pet products."

"Our experience with Assertive K9 Training was fabulous. My Jack Russel Terrier, Annie, was horrible to walk on a leash, pretty much impossible. With the help and experience of Jim, Annie now walks on a leash effortlessly and looks forward to her nightly walks in town. Annie is now a much happier, less anal pet and I would definitely advise any pet owner with any issue to invest the time to help their pet be their best. Literally my dog went from 'I will not walk on a leash' to walking in as little as two sessions. Thank You Jim!"

"Our Famiy adopted two dogs from a rescue organization. They grew into larger dogs than we were used to having. We called Jim to help us manage the two strong but sweet animals. Within minutes Jim had both Allie and R.J. walking properly next to him. It took Jim a little longer to teach us what we needed to know. We can't thank Jim enough for all he has done. It was worth every cent to have Jim educate the family on how to handle large dogs. They are terrific pets."

"Jim O'Brien turned my dog completely around. Before we met Jim my dog never listened to any commands and did what she wanted when she wanted. After our second or third lesson she responded very well to our commands. We have just finished our sixth lesson and already she has learned the commands sit, stay, down, and come. We are now working on out of sight stays and long distance commands and she seems to be reacting very well and I can't wait for the lessons to come!"

"I have a 19 month old female German Shepherd. I consulted numerous trainers on her fear aggression towards other dogs. One wanted lots of money to board and train because in his words, she was a high risk. Another was going to work one on one with me and help us. He specialized in aggression and behavior issues. I worked with him through the summer,if you call it working with him. I was on my own trying to find a comfort level for this severely afraid 65lb dog. After all summer of fighting to get my trainer to work with me I began my search again. I consulted 3 trainers this time around, one wanted to use the remote collar because nothing else was going to work, one wanted double what Jim wanted for 6 weeks of what Jim was offering, then came Jim. At the evaluation he got Athena to be calm and relax a tiny bit around his cute, calm lab Lucy. I knew this was the one.

"When I consulted him in October I felt hopeless with my dog. I was ready to give up and have a house dog and that would be that. Let me tell you the progress we made in 7 sessions. She went from a total nut case barking and snarling to a fairly relaxed dog in a pack. I can now walk her in town, in a pet store or in a group of fellow Shepherds. With his knowledge and patience, Jim showed me how to watch for her signals, how to correctly correct with the collar and leash and how to relax when out with her. I am a member of a GSD forum that I have talked extensively about Athena's problem on and we finally got to do a meet up with 7 GSD last weekend. They couldn't believe this was the same dog I had been in tears over. She isn't playgroup material YET, but with a little more help she may end up being able to play in the pack with her fellow GSD friends."

If you are having problems with your pal don't hesitate to give Jim a try. He was the best investment I made in my dog's well-being and my own. He will always be a part of our training with any future dogs we have. Thank you Jim."
